How We Showed Up for Each Other and Our Communities

Every August, the Sycamore campus celebrates the birthday of our founder, J. Walter Becker, with a Day of Kindness—a tradition rooted in his belief in treating others with respect and compassion.

This year, we took that tradition global.

Throughout August, teams across IDEAL Industries, Inc. came together for our first-ever global Month of Kindness. This was a company-wide celebration of the values that connect us. From the city of Sycamore in the United States to the city of Christchurch in New Zealand, employees showed up with heart, purpose, and generosity.

Whether it was packing backpacks, preparing meals, or lending a hand to local organizations, we made kindness visible in every corner of the business.

“With the help of our amazing volunteers, we assembled 100 backpacks filled with supplies to help students start the school year strong.

Together, we’re creating impact, starting with one backpack at a time.”

- Alfredo Cabrera, Anderson Power

“Two volunteer groups prepared and served home-cooked meals to families staying at Ronald McDonald House.

Meanwhile, another team sorted donations, assembled food parcels, and assisted food bank staff at Christchurch City Mission for those facing food insecurity. ”

- Ashley Newman, Enatel

"Partnering with Dreams and Wishes, our team helped support kids affected by domestic violence, abuse, and poverty.

We assembled 100 backpacks for local children in need, each with a personalized note to brighten their day."

- Zoya Davidson, IDEAL Electrical

Month of Kindness Spotlight

The IDEAL EMEA team took meaningful action by partnering with Warrington Women’s Aid, a local charity that provides refuge and support to women and children escaping domestic abuse. The team donated Self Care Kits for women, coloring supplies and chocolates for children and more! In addition to the gifts, a £500 donation was made to further support the charity’s incredible work.

With so many animal lovers at IDEAL Canada, it was no surprise that the team chose to support the Humane Society of Durham Region (HSDR).

Employees came together to donate a truckload of food, toys and supplies, along with a generous $2,120 cheque to help the shelter continue its work.

Kindness That Connects Us

20+ story submissions

The response to Month of Kindness was nothing short of inspiring. With 20+ story submissions from employees across teams and regions — many accompanied by heartfelt photos and personal reflections — it’s clear that kindness isn’t just a campaign at IDEAL, it’s a core part of who we are.

This level of engagement shows how much our people care — about their communities, their colleagues, and the values we share. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this initiative so meaningful.

Kindness in Action: Keeping the Momentum Alive

Month of Kindness may be over, but the impact is lasting. From heartfelt donations and community outreach to everyday moments of care, our employees showed that kindness isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we live. The stories, photos, and energy shared across teams were a powerful reminder of how deeply our values run.

Let’s keep that momentum going. Whether it’s through future initiatives or simple, everyday gestures, kindness is always worth showing up for — and it’s part of what makes IDEAL truly IDEAL.
