SYCAMORE, IL, July 17, 2006 – IDEAL's commitment to serve the professional electrician with the best possible training was again demonstrated with the recent donation of several IDEAL tool kits to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for use at the National Training Institute (NTI) sponsored by the IBEW and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
"These kits will help NTI students and instructors a great deal," said IBEW representative Harry Ohde, who helped organize the donation. "It takes a strong partnership among manufacturers and the IBEW to provide top-quality training for electricians at all levels of experience. We are truly grateful to IDEAL for their leadership in philanthropy."
IDEAL Representative Andy Salemi met with Local Union 134 representatives at the main campus of the IBEW-NECA Technical Institute in Alsip, Illinois, on June 21, 2006, to present the kits. Each donated kit features professional-grade IDEAL tools, including conduit benders, screwdrivers, markers and tape measures.
Business Unit Manager Bruce Hartranft of IDEAL Industries noted: "IDEAL is proud of our ongoing support of the IBEW and its important training programs. The tools we have donated will help NTI instructors provide students with the hands-on experience they need to perform their jobs correctly, safely and efficiently."
The next National Training Institute is scheduled for July 29-August 4, 2006, in Knoxsville, Tennessee. Electricians interested in attending that event or other upcoming NTI courses should visit www.njatc.org.
