IDEAL Appoints Brian Slayton Business Unit Manager of Tools and Supplies

SYCAMORE, IL, August 11, 2009 – IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. today announced the appointment of operations manager Brian Slayton to the position of Business Unit Manager - Tools and Supplies, effective immediately. With key expertise in manufacturing processes, Slayton will further strengthen the unit's leadership in professional-grade quality hand tools, tool bags and cutting accessories while targeting expansion into new product categories to serve the electrical, construction and data communications markets.

As Business Unit Manager, Slayton will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Tools and Supplies group, including oversight of the IDEAL manufacturing facility and distribution center in Sycamore, Illinois. Slayton will report directly to Glenn Hollister, Vice President and General Manager of the IDEAL Electrical Division

"Brian's sound management skills and manufacturing experience were important factors in his appointment," explained Hollister. "With tools and supplies forming a critical part of our organic growth strategy, we feel his expertise will add immense value to the company and take this business unit to a new level."

Slayton comes to IDEAL from the Building Components Group of ITW, a leader in residential and light commercial construction products and services, where he served as Vice President of Operations.
